Carly O’Loughlan – Director, Ore Contracting WA Pty Ltd
As the Director at Ore Contracting Carly has been a pivotal part of the company. Carly aims to actively listen to the feedback of industry professionals, employees, and user feedback to date. Carly saw a problem in the perception of labour-hire and has used sought out data to create SaffMiner. The platform that allows businesses to post a job brief with the “bigger picture” of their worksite requirements. Workers create a profile, upload their qualifications which can be star-rated. The platform allows the business to create a shopping list of candidate profiles and allows the worker to showcase their skills, with upfront knowledge of the payment rate they can expect and hours as a total package.

Carrie Heaven – Superintendent Mine Services, Glencore
Carrie is an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry. Carrie has been an advocate for women in STEM and had the opportunity to visit high schools and colleges to speak and promote STEM. Carrie has been a major part of working in the community with Borroloola on several projects to help others in their future. She is a qualified WA Quarry Manager, winner of the NT Overall Exceptional Women in Resources Award 2020 and is currently working to complete an Executive MBA. She has shown leadership both within her role as well as in the community. She has also been an advocate to ensure women are in a safe environment and took it upon herself to sit down with each of the women on the operational crews and discuss what the working conditions were like at this mine.

Christine Morris – Director Strategy & Performance, Komatsu Mining
For 10 years Christine Morris has been working for Komatsu as the Director Human Resource. She notices a lack of female presence during meetings and decided to establish a mentoring program. The program is called DIAMOND which ensure all female employees are connected and is developing individuals and mentoring opportunities notifying direction. Christine’s vision for gender diversity is to shift the current mindset of organisations away from looking outside of their immediate business and initially refocus on developing within. She plans to expand her program to a wider audience and share the idea with the industry. With her passion to improve the profile of all working women as well as supporting women’s issues as well as in the community she has been a pivotal part of the success in her workplace.
