CRT represented at Women in Industry Awards

The fifth annual Women in Industry awards was held 14 June in Sydney, celebrating the achievements of nominees, finalists and winners across a range of sectors.

The event encourages and recognises success achieved by women in industries that have traditionally been male-dominated, including road transport, logistics and materials handling, infrastructure, mining and engineering. Author, journalist and broadcaster, Tracey Spicer, hosted the proceedings.

Celebrating an indivudual who has gone above and beyond to improve and positively impact the Australian road transport industry, Jacquelene Brotherton – Transport Manager of Oxford Cold Storage – took out the ‘Excellence in Road Transport’ accolade.

Brotherton joined the transport industry in 1970, and has worked for several major transport companies with 20 years in livestock transport and roles in fleet management, general and refrigerated transport operations as well as owning her own truck. She has been the the Transport Manager for Oxford Cold Storage since 2007.

Brotherton is a Life Member of the Livestock and Bulk Carriers Association of NSW, Co-Chair of the Wyndham Industrial Liason Development Committee and Chair of the Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Association. As Chair of Transport Women Australia Limited, she partnered with Wodonga TAFE and Volvo Group Australia to launch a pilot training program designed to help women obtain a heavy vehicle driver licence in early 2018.

Recognised for creating new growth opportunities that have allowed their organisation to expand and generate greater revenue, Federica Guidi – Business Development Manager for VISA Global Logistics, was awarded ‘Business Development Manager of the Year’.

in 2016, Guidi was formally recognised for her outstanding contribution to sales. During this time, she had a portfolio of over 60 clients ranging from family businesses, leading national businesses to international conglomerates. Her portfolio of new and existing clients brought in a year-by-year growth of 25 per cent annually. To recognise her ongoing success, she was promoted to Global Sales & Business Development Manager by the end of 2017. She often travels to Europe, India, South East Asia and China to facilitate sales deals, working with VISA’s global team to establish tailored, robust services. In the past seven years, Guidi has retained 95 per cent of her client portfolio.
