Transport women australia and daimler announce 2023 driving the difference scholarships applications open

The scholarship supports women in transport the opportunity to undertake further study, or for women in other industries to make a start in transport.

Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) has announced this week it is now accepting applications for the next round of Driving the Difference scholarships.

Now in its fifth year, TWAL says this Daimler Truck Australia Pacific backed program provides a unique opportunity for women in the transport and logistics industry and those wishing to enter the field.

The scholarships enable the successful applicants to undertake any course that will advance their careers or expand their knowledge in their current position. Alternatively, it could give other women the chance to become part of the transport and logistics industry.

Applications will be accepted until October 31 and recipients will be announced on November 16.

“TWAL are excited to partner once again with Daimler Truck Australia Pacific to present the Driving the Difference scholarships for another year.

“These scholarships have enhanced participation of women in the transport and logistics industry and will continue to do so. Previous winners have been from the trucking, rail, and marine sectors, so have assisted a diverse group of women.” TWAL chair Jacquelene Brotherton says.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific President and CEO, Daniel Whitehead, says the company is pleased to continue supporting the program.

“The team at Daimler Truck is proud to support the TWAL Driving the Difference scholarship program, which is a fantastic initiative,” Whitehead says.

“Daimler Truck is firmly committed to supporting gender diversity and equitable practices within Australian trucking and transport and we know the industry will be the better for it.”
