Meet the finalists for Excellence in Manufacturing

This award recognises an individual who has thought ‘outside the box’ to implement an outstanding personal contribution to their manufacturing business and the wider manufacturing community.
Cori Stewart – CEO, ARM Hub
Since the establishment of the ARM Hub, Cori has been leading the company as CEO, where she has made a widely recognised positive impact on the industrial transformation of Australian manufacturing. Cori contributes to the future of manufacturing by shaping and delivering on the ARM Hub’s mission to uplift the capabilities of Australian manufacturers and catalyse economic growth by accelerating digital adoption. Under Cori’s leadership as CEO, the ARM Hub has played a prominent role during COVID-19, particularly to enable the smart manufacture of essential medical equipment and supplies. Cori is a recognised leader and has successfully developed new approaches to pressing challenges in industry and society.
Heidi Bergman – Director, Manufacturing Sciences & Technology, Seqirus
Heidi Bergman heads the Australian Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MS&T) function for Seqirus, part of the CSL Group. Heidi has been instrumental as she led and mentored her dynamic team to become part of the solution to the current COVID10 global pandemic. As a result of Heidi’s leadership and mentoring skills, the Seqirus MS&T team were able to rapidly design a GMP manufacturing process for the aseptic filling of for the University of Queensland (UQ) COVID-19 vaccine candidate for use in clinical trials. With her international childhood living in both Europe and the US, her passion in the industry has been influenced by her father who was a physicist. With this background, Heidi is passionate about breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation of women to join the industry.
Julie Jones – General Counsel and Company Secretary, Matrix Composites and Engineering Ltd
Julie Jones is the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Matrix Composites and Engineering. Julie excels at this role providing strong pragmatic commercial legal advice and practical ethical compliance support for the Company. Julie is the innovator of SOLSAN is a solar powered bulk hand sanitiser dispenser that can be easily installed in public spaces to promote good hand hygiene and reduce the transmission of communicable diseases. Throughout her years in the industry Julie’s leadership skills has shown great triumph throughout her work. In all her actions she is guided by a desire to make a difference at a business level for Matrix, for staff working with her and for the wider community.
Noelle Parlier – Chief Engineer, PACCAR Australia
Noelle Parlier is Chief Engineer of PACCAR Australia, which locally design and manufacture Kenworth and DAF trucks. Originating from the United States, Noelle earned her undergraduate degree from Seattle University and her MBA from Eastern New Mexico University. Noelle has been with PACCAR for fourteen years and has experienced many areas of truck design, including Reliability Engineer, Validation Manager, Program Management, Section Engineer, and Assistant Chief Engineer. She is very passionate about the trucking industry and its people.
Sabrina Sequeria – Project Engineer, Lighting Protection International
Sabrina is a Project Engineer at LPI who tracks products from the marketing phase, through to their engineering design, manufacture, sale, and then eventual end of life. She is a representative on the WHS Committee, where I fulfil an active role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of many staff and visitors to our manufacturing sites. Sabrina is passionate about reducing non-value-added tasks in the workplace and empowering those around me to make best use of their skills. Sabrina has been a valued team member at LPI showing initiative and implementing her many years of experience to better the workplace.
Shay Chalmers – Director, Strategic Engineering Australia Pty Ltd
Shay Chalmers is a renowned manufacturing industry expert, engineering consultants and keynote speakers. With over 10 years’ experience around the globe, Shay’s work spans a wide range of manufacturing sectors from steel to medical devices, and a wide range of roles, from the shop floor to executive management. Shay’s work in helping women achieve successful careers in technology, including her contribution to Women in STEM, earned her a recognition from Queensland Voices Leaders program, and a selection as one of twenty Queensland women in 2019 who are excelling in their chosen field. Shay is passionately committed to contributing to the future of manufacturing and aspire to be a driving force in transforming our manufacturing sector into a force that can compete on a global scale. She educates the public on the uniqueness of Australia and how advanced manufacturing can create a strong economic environment so that the next generation can thrive.
