Amelinda Ilardi – Project Manager, ANCA
Since entering the field of engineering in 1997, Amelinda Ilardi worked across a range of technical roles where she has applied her skills and acumen in practical and real-world applications. With her current role working as the Project Manager at ANCA for each project that Amelinda leads to completion, modification to existing technology is required. In 2020 Amelinda won the individual award for Customer Service and was part of the winning teams for the team awards for Innovation as well as special recognition for results on a project that was made more challenging due to COVID restrictions. Amelinda has also contributed to raising the profile of women in the organisation and in the advanced manufacturing sector, participating in ANCA’s celebration of International Women’s Day and her achievements in a senior role in our organisation. Supported by her skills in managing people and stakeholder engagement with ANCA’s global customers is part of the success of her many projects.
Ashleigh Fulcher – Mechanical Engineer, Viva Energy Australia
Ashleigh is a Mechanical Engineer and leads the Reliability team, whose main aim is to improve the safety and reliability of the equipment at the Geelong refinery. Ashleigh’s focus on risk mitigation and root cause analysis have contributed to significant cost savings for the refinery and her innovations within the site context that have resulted in operational and plant efficiencies. With multiple contributions to the industry Ashleigh is leading an upcoming offline wash of a centrifugal compressor which has reduced efficiency from internal fouling. In 2020, Ashleigh sought a secondment to the Turnaround Department as Technical Assurance and Commissioning Manager for the catalytic cracking unit turnaround. During this time, she drove team performance to ensure quality outcomes were achieved resulting in all processing units starting up safety and with no delays.
Bronwyn Evans – CEO, Engineers Australia
Dr Bronwyn Evans is an engineer and executive who exemplifies excellence in engineering, both in her current role as CEO of the profession’s peak body, Engineers Australia, and throughout her career. She has been an instrumental figure in reshaping Engineer’s Australia and has had major achievements during her career. Dr Evans is an experienced and respected CEO who brings a wealth of leadership and commercial and policy expertise gained across a career spanning both corporate and not-for-profit roles at the forefront of engineering in Australia and globally. These have included CEO of Standards Australia, senior executive roles at Cochlear Ltd and GE Healthcare, as well as non-executive board experience in the construction, medical technology, and digital business sectors.
Narelle Dobson – Director Special Projects, Department of Transport and Main Roads, QLD
Over the past 6 years Narelle has performed Director roles with management responsibilities for teams and special projects. Narelle’s contributions to civil engineering in the department has been toward design, technical document development, construction and asset management of road pavements and other transport infrastructure. Narelle led the development of MRTS35 Recycled Materials in Pavements which is the department’s first supply and construction specification enabling the use of recycled materials such as recycled crushed concrete, brick, and glass in road pavements. In her current role Narelle has cross-discipline leadership of a project to optimise construction quality records data management.
Rachel Barrett – Senior Verification and Validation Engineer, Bosch Australia
Rachel Barrett has an electronics and computer systems engineering degree and works at Bosch Australia as a Senior Verification and Validation Engineer in the Cross Domain Computing Solutions division. Rachel has a passion for engineering, agile work methods, and collaboration. She is a valued leader within her team who always encourages learning and improvement through training and mentoring. Rachel has also created a change and defect management working method for an innovative platform project. This initiative has allowed her to demonstrate the ability to predict and pre-emptively design for future project change management scenarios. In this work she continues to frequently collaborate with all levels of the international project management structure to gather business needs and engage stakeholders in the design of the strategy. Rachel has become a role model to others within her team and at a wider level across our organisation as a leading engineer.
