Meet the finalists for Business Development Success of the Year

This award recognises those who have created new growth opportunities that have allowed their organisation to expand and generate greater revenue.
Katherine Walton – Cyclone Specialist, Weir Minerals
In Katherines 26 years at Weir Minerals, she has dedicated herself to the field of hydrocyclones. She applies her years of knowledge to developing, testing, and supporting customers. Katherine effectively leverages this knowledge to put herself and the general sales team in the best position to achieve their goals. In 2020 Katherine was instrumental in the development and launch of the CAVEX2 hydrocyclone in the Australia, Pacific, and Asia regions. Katherine engaged the engineering customer early; using her wealth of experience to provide quality simulation analysis and support to their process and mechanical engineers which ultimately lead to recommend cluster design. This has led to the growth for both revenue and margin rates through focused sales as well as to customer.
Kylie Hollonds – Managing Director, GF Oats Australia
Kylie has been instrumental in the company’s growth where she has taken control back of the company’s cashflow and has increased profits by acquiring a digital grant and implementing a new online shop platform. In 2020 she launched two websites where set goals were put in place and were reached and saw an increase in sales. Kylie also increased the marketing budgets which has grown their distribution and wholesale accounts and has given growth for the company. Fulfilling a 10-year goal saw the recent launch of the first gluten free Aussie Oats to Australian consumers. Meeting their 2021 financial year targets for 50% growth all while navigating stock supply challenges. These changes have come into effect and has seen a large growth in customers.
Lacey Webb – Founder & Director, Resource Hub
Lacey has been an instrumental figure at Resource Hub Consulting as seen in the last 12 months. The last months have seen a significant international shift in their approach to sales, diversifying revenue streams and targeting and testing new approaches for selling their services. This has seen a continuous expansion in the team within waste management. She has implemented a range of new approaches and as director, she has gone from being the operational lead and turned into the sales lead. From expanding their services, they have won major consultancy projects with commercial clients which has seen a lot of success in the company. Lacey has been a key driver in her expanding portfolio work and has generated growth to an organisation on a large scale.
Louise Johnson – Scientific Specialist, BOC
Louise has worked as a Scientific Specialist for nearly a decade and is responsible for business development, relationship management, sales and support across BOC’s specialised gases, equipment, and services. Louise has a strong focus on achieving results customised to clients’ individual needs, while still ensuring profitability for BOC. In 2021 COVID19 vaccines were rolling out the WA Government’s Disaster Management Team sent requests to several equipment manufacturers and suppliers for the supply of low temperature freezers to store COVID-19 vaccines. She utilised her extensive customer stakeholder relationships to uncover, explore and secure new business for BOC. Louise’s attention to detail provided strength in the relationships they have made through other businesses.
Puneeta Chellaramani – Director, KPMG Australia
With only a short time working at KPMG Puneeta has excelled in the company bringing her 12 years of experience. Puneeta is responsible for growing and strengthening the footprint of KPMC Cyber Security’s business in Australia and New Zealand. Puneeta lead the Accenture’s cloud first Cloud Security Campaign as well as created powered sales plan for cyber portfolio. She has kick started a sales initiative within KPMG showing great initiative throughout her journey. Puneeta has been instrumental in increasing sales, generating additional revenue, and gaining trust in clients who have further referred new clients.
