Women in STEM now easier to find with new directory
A new online directory will make it easier to find women working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Developed by the Australian Academy of Science, in conjunction with CSIRO, Science & Technology Australia and the Australian Science Media Centre, the directory, named STEM Women, also has the financial backing of the Australian Government.
STEM Women will link a range of women with career progression opportunities including presenting at conferences, participating as members on a variety of boards and committees, being nominated for awards and being interviewed in the media.
Those using the database are able to search for women based on their experience and location, among other search fields.
Minister for Industry, Science and Technology Karen Andrews has urged Australian women in STEM careers to take part.
